For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is
given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be
called Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of
Peace. –Isaiah 9:6
If we
set aside that about whom the above prophecy had been prophesied, what the
noticeable fact is that the Apostle of Jesus and Paul, who had mentioned so
many prophecies about Jesus, never ever have proclaimed basing on the above
prophecy, saying as Jesus is Mighty God. But what curious to know is that Paul
who had mentioned so many prophecies about Jesus, proclaimed “Jesus is Christ”
as follows.
Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to
them, and for three Sabbaths reasoned with them from scriptures, explaining and
demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the death, and
saying, “This Jesus whom I preached to you is the Christ.” – Acts 17:3
…For he vigorously refuted the Jews publicly,
showing from the scriptures that Jesus is the Christ. – Acts 18:28
Why did
not Paul, who had reasoned form the so many prophecies with the Jews for the
three Sabbaths saying that Jesus “Christ”, ever have reasoned saying Jesus is
God according to Isaiah 9:6 as propagated by the preaches of now a days? And
why only Paul has explained Jesus is Christ form the so many prophecies? Every
Christian should think over this point.
Is Jesus Mighty God?
Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most
assuredly, I say to you, the son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees
the Father do; for whatever He does, the son also does in like manner. – John
5:19
I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I
judge; and my Judgement is righteous because I do not seek my own will but the
Father who sent me. - John
5:30
For I have not spoken on my own authority;
but the Father who sent me gave me a command, what I should say and what I
should speak. –
John 12:49,50
…nor have I come of myself, but He sent
me. – John 8:42
If
Jesus really a mighty God according as to Isaiah 9:6 as contended by the
present day church, could Jesus ever have proclaimed “I can of myself do nothing?” Even Jesus does not have the authority or the own powers
to take any decision with his own will according to the following verse.
Then the mother of Zebedee’s sons came to him
with her sons, kneeling down and asking something from him. And he said to her,
“What do you wish?” she said to him, “Grant that these two sons of mine may
sit, one on your right hand and other on the left, in your king dome.” But
Jesus answered and said, you do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink
the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with baptism that I am
baptized with? They said to him “We are able.” So he said to them “You will
indeed drink my cup, and be baptized with baptism that I am baptized with; but
to sit on my right hand and my left is not mine to give, but it is for those
for whom it is prepared by my Father.– Matthew 20:20-23
According
to the above verses Jesus neither possess any own powers in this world nor does
not have any authority even in the heaven also. If this be case, to say Jesus
is mighty God or equal to or incarnate of God becomes complete
meaningless.
What are those prophecies that have been fulfilled in case of Jesus?
Behold, My servant whom I uphold… - Isaiah
42:1
We can
see the above prophecy to have been fulfilled in Matthew 12:16-17 as follows.
…that it might be fulfilled which was spoken
by Isaiah the prophet saying: Behold! My servant whom I have chosen… - Matthew
12:16-17
According
to the above fulfilment, the Apostle of Jesus might have proclaimed as follows.
The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God
of our fathers, glorified His servant Jesus… - Acts 3:13
To you first, God, having raised up His
servant Jesus… -Acts 3:26
Another prophecy that have been fulfilled in case of Jesus?
The Lord has sworn And will not relent, “You
are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek” – Psalm 110:4
We can
see the above prophecy to have been fulfilled in Hebrews 7:20-22 as follows.
The Lord has sworn And will not relent, “You
are a priest forever, According to the order of Melchizedek… - Hebrews 7:20
Thus
according to the above fulfillment of the prophecy mentioned by Paul it is clear
that Jesus becomes as Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek by
the swear of God, but he does not becomes as God according to the prophecy
Isaiah 9:6 as proclaimed by the church.
