God was manifested in the flesh, justified in
the spirit, seen by angels, preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the
world, Received up in glory. – 1 Timothy
3:16
According
to the above verse of King James
Version the argument of present day’s preachers is that- Paul has proclaimed
that God means Jehovah has manifested in the flesh i.e. in the form of Jesus. In
this regard, whether Paul really had proclaimed that God was manifested in the
flesh or not, first let us see the who had manifested in the flesh whether
Jehovah or Jesus in the preaching of Paul.
Who
had manifested in the flesh? Whether Jehovah or Jesus according to Paul
Who in the days of
his flesh, when he [Jesus] had offered up prayers and supplications, with
vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save him from death, and was
heard because of his godly fear… - Hebrews 5:7
Therefore when he
[Jesus] came into the world, he said: sacrifice and offering you did not
desire, But a body you have prepared for me. –
Hebrews 10:5
God did by sending
His own son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned
sin in the flesh.– Romans 8:3
What curious to know in the above verses is that Paul clearly says in the
first verse is that Jesus when in the days of his flesh he had offered up
prayers and supplications with vehement cries and tears to Him who was to able
to save him from death. Who was in the flesh? Answer is obviously Jesus. And to
whom Jesus had offered up prayers and supplications with vehement cries and
tears? Answer is to Jehovah. If truly had Jehovah manifested in the form of
flesh i.e. Jesus, could Paul ever have proclaimed saying Jesus when in the days
of flesh, he offered up prayers and supplications with vehement cries and
tears?
And in the second verse of the above, Paul reiterates the prophecy wherein Jesus
testifies saying as “But a body you have prepared for me.” If
truly Jehovah were incarnated or manifested in the flesh means as Jesus, could
he ever have testified that “But a body you have prepared for me?”
And in the third verse of the above, we find Paul to have proclaimed saying
“God
did by sending His own son in the likeness of sinful flesh.” If really Jehovah were manifested in the form
of flesh, could Paul ever have proclaimed saying that God has sent His son in
the likeness of sinful flesh?
Thus, according to the teachings of Paul we came to know that God did not
manifest in the flesh but God has arranged the body or He sent Jesus in the
flesh.
If
Paul had believed that Jehovah has manifested as Jesus, then could he ever have
proclaimed Jehovah is the God of Jesus Christ?
Do not cease to give
thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that THE GOD OF OUR LORD
JESUS CHRIST…- Ephesians 1:16,17
BLESSED BE THE GOD
and Father of OUR lord Jesus Christ…- Ephesians 1:3
If
Paul had believed that Jehovah has manifested as Jesus, then could he ever have
proclaimed Jehovah had sent Jesus Christ in flesh?
because He has appointed a day on which He
will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. – Acts 17:31
But when the fullness of the time had come,
God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law. – Galatians 4:4
Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful
to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. – Hebrew
3:2
If
Paul had really believed as Jehovah had manifested as Jesus, then could he ever
have proclaimed that one should thank and glorify God through Jesus?
And
whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving
thanks to God the Father through Him. – Colossi ans 3:17
Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask
or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the
church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen. – Ephesians
3:21
to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever.
Amen. – Romans 16:27
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of
praise to God... – Hebrews 13:15
First,
I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all... – Romans 1:8
If
Paul had really believed as Jehovah had manifested as Jesus, then could he ever
have proclaimed that Jesus intercedes at Jehovah for those that come to God
through him?
But He, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable
priest hood. Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who
come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. –
Hebrews 7:24,25
who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us. –
Romans 8:34
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest
who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our
confession.– Hebrews 4:14
If
Paul had really believed as Jehovah had manifested as Jesus, why did Paul have
proclaimed Jesus “High priest?” instead of propagate Jesus as God himself?
And inasmuch as He was not made priest without an oath (for they have
become priests without an oath, but He with an oath by Him who said to Him:
"The Lord has sworn And will not relent, 'You are a priest forever
According to the order of Melchizedek' "), by so much more Jesus has
become a surety of a better covenant. – Hebrews 7:20-22
But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch
as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better
promises. – Hebrews 8:6
If
Paul had really believed as Jehovah had manifested as Jesus, could he ever have
proclaimed that God has raised up Jesus for Israel?
From this man's seed, according to the
promise, God raised up for Israel a Savior Jesus. – Acts 13:23
What important to note is that the verse of 1
Timothy 3:16 that “God was
manifested in the flesh” is nothing
but the translation mistake. As a matter of fact, if we observe carefully this
part of the verse in old Greek, which is the Alexandrinus codex of 5 th century
wherein we can find this verse to have been written as that “he was manifested in the flesh” indicating “he” to Jesus. But in some of the
recent Greek Bibles it has been incorporated as Elohim was manifested which contradicts
to the entire Bible. But if we observe the above analysis what we have done in
the above, it can be proved that Jehovah did not come in the flesh as Jesus but
Jesus has come or has been sent by God in the flesh in capacity of Christ.
