Looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God 'and' our saviour Jesus Christ. - TITUS 2:13
According
to the above verse of King James
Version the argument of present day’s preachers is that- Paul says about the
glorious appearing of Jesus who is the great God and savior of us. Therefore
one should believe Jesus as great God and savior of us.
Before going in to the further first let us have a
glance over the verse Titus 2:13 according to the Greek in the following.
Awaiting for the
blessed hope, and the
appearing of the glory of the great God 'and' saviour of us, Christ Jesus.- TITUS 2:13
If we observe analytically the above English
translated verse form the original Greek we find Paul to have mentioned about
the appearing of the glory of the two persons those are 1. God and 2. Jesus. To
say in clear Paul says that “Awaiting for the appearing of the glory of the great God and the glory
of saviour of us, Christ Jesus.”
We can find the major difference between the verses of
KJV and Greek that is according to KJV we find as “the glorious appearing of the great God and our saviour
Jesus Christ” and
according to Greek we can see as “the appearing of the glory of
the great God 'and' saviour of us, Christ Jesus” in which we can see Paul to have introduced two separate
entities those are Great God and saviour Jesus Christ.
By the
above analysis we come to conclude that Paul mentions about the appearing of
the glory of the great God and the glory of Jesus Christ.
Observe
the beginning verses of Epistle of Titus what Paul has written therein
We find Paul to have mentioned about the two persons
right from the beginning of his epistle Titus 2:13 as follows.
Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and the Lord
Jesus Christ our savour. – Titus 1:4
Whether
there are two great Gods according to Bible!
Who is so great a God as our saviour? – Psalm 77:13
Who
is great God according to Bible?
For the Lord your GOD, THE GREAT and awesome God, is
among you.– Deu 7:21
For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords,
THE GREAT GOD. – Deuteronomy 10:17
And Ezra blessed the Lord, THE GREAT GOD. Then all the
people answered, Amen, Amen. – Nehemiah 8:6
For the Lord is THE GREAT GOD, and the great King above
all gods.– Psalm 95:3
In
the every epistle Paul shows Jehovah and Jesus as two separate entities!
Grace to you and peace from God and our Father and the
lord Jesus Christ. – Romans 1:7
…according to the grace of our God and the lord Jesus
Christ. – 1
Thessalonians 1:12
To the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and
the lord Jesus Christ. – 2 Thessalonians 1:1
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of
god our saviour and the lord Jesus Christ. – 1 Timothy 1:1
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and Lord Jesus
Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our lord Jesus Christ.– 2
Corinthians 1:2-3
Did
Paul ever have believed Jesus as God? Or he have believed Jesus as servant of God?
Do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of
you in my prayers: that THE GOD OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.– Ephesians
1:16, 17
The above verse of Ephesians is the ultimate proof to
say that Paul never ever had believed Jesus as Almighty God himself or
incarnate of God. But He has believed that there is only one God who is Jehovah
THE GOD OF LORD JESUS CHRIST. If this be case, how can we say that Paul has
praised Jesus in Titus 2:13 saying as Great God? According to the so far
analysis we came to know that Paul always have believed in only one God and he believed always
Jesus as Christ or Messiah.
